Privacy Policy
Lápides D'Saudade respects your privacy. This page explains what personal data we collect, what it is used for, and how you can control it.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Flávio André Gomes de Sousa, a sole trader (in Portuguese law, «empresário em nome individual»), who carries on business under the trade name Lápides D'Saudade, with Portuguese tax number (NIF) 255211830 and registered address at Rua João Maia 29, R/C, 4475-129 Castelo da Maia, Maia, Portugal. For any question about your data, write to lapidesdsaudade@gmail.com.
What we use your data for, and on what basis
We collect only what each purpose requires. These are all the purposes, with the legal basis for each:
- Replying to your enquiry and preparing the quote and the order. Name, telephone, email, town and the elements of the piece (name, dates, inscription and photograph to engrave), which you give us in the contact form, the configurator or by message. Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to a contract, and performance of the contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Without a name and telephone number we cannot reply.
- Invoicing and legal obligations. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
- Site security and abuse prevention. The IP address and browser type are stored together with the enquiry. Legal basis: legitimate interest in protecting the site (Article 6(1)(f)). You may object.
- Audience measurement and advertising. Cookies, browser storage, the campaign parameters with which you reached the site, and the reporting of enquiries and sales to advertising platforms. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 5 of Portuguese «Lei n.º 41/2004»). If you do not accept, none of this happens: campaign parameters are only stored with your consent.
Partner applications: we process the business's details and those of the contact person to assess the application and, if it is approved, to manage the partnership (performance of the contract).
Data of deceased persons
To make the piece we process the name, dates, inscription and, if you send it, the photograph of the deceased person. Portuguese law protects the image and intimate data of deceased persons (Article 17 of «Lei n.º 58/2019»). We use these elements only for your order: we do not send them to advertising platforms and we never publish them without written permission. The rights over this data may be exercised by whoever the deceased person designated or, failing that, by the heirs. By sending them, you confirm that you are entitled to do so.
Audience measurement and advertising
We use an audience-measurement tool to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they see, in aggregate. We also use advertising platforms to measure the effectiveness of our ads and to link, in encrypted form (hashed, never in plain text), quote requests or sales to the campaigns that generated them — this helps us show ads to people looking for our services and avoid wasting budget on ads that do not lead to real enquiries.
None of this happens without your consent, given in the banner that appears on your first visit. Only after you accept are the measurement and advertising tools loaded. Until you accept, no analytics or advertising cookie is stored in your browser, the ad-click identifier you may have arrived with is not stored, and our server reports nothing to advertising platforms. If you accept and later refuse, we delete from your browser any analytics and advertising cookies and records that had been created.
You can change your mind at any time, under «Cookie preferences» in the footer of every page, or here: . Refusing limits nothing on the site — requesting a quote, contacting us and browsing work exactly the same way.
Some of our providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States. This takes place under the European Commission's adequacy decision (Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1795), for certified entities, or under standard contractual clauses approved by the Commission. You may ask us for a copy.
Cookies and local storage
These are all the cookies and records this site may store in your browser.
Necessary for the site to work — always stored, without consent, because without them the site does not work or we cannot respect your choice:

Lasts 30 minutes.dsaudade_cookie_consent_v1— the record of your cookie choice, in the browser's local storage. It is what stops us asking you again on every page.lang— the language you chose to read the site in, in the browser's local storage.lds_last_order— a summary of the last enquiry you sent, in session storage, to show the confirmation page. Deleted when you close the tab.
With your consent — only after you accept, and deleted if you refuse:

Until you accept, we block the sending of this data and delete the cookie from your browser.dsaudade_attribution_v1— in session storage (deleted when you close the tab); keeps the page through which you found us and the campaign parameters, so we know where the enquiry came from.dsaudade_fbclid_v1— in local storage; the ad-click identifier with which you reached the site. Lasts 7 days.dsaudade_eid_v1— in local storage; a pseudonymous identifier used for advertising, containing no data that identifies you directly.lds_visitor_id_v1— in session storage; a session identifier so we do not count the same contact twice._ga,_gid— from the audience-measurement tool: how many people visit the site and which pages they see._gcl_*— from the advertising platform: to know which of our ads lead to enquiries._fbp,_fbc— from another advertising platform, for the same purpose.
Who we share the data with
With providers who work on our behalf, and only to the extent each purpose requires: hosting and database of the site, email sending, messaging and internal notifications. Only with your consent, also with audience-measurement and advertising platforms. We do not sell data, nor share it with third parties for their own commercial purposes.
How long we keep the data
We keep your data for as long as our business relationship lasts and, after that, for up to 5 years after the last contact — a common period for legal and tax obligations in Portugal — unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
You may request access to, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability of your data. You may withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what has already been done, under «Cookie preferences» in the footer, or here: . Just write to lapidesdsaudade@gmail.com — we reply within one month at most, as the GDPR requires (Article 12(3)). If you are not satisfied with our reply, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD, the Portuguese data protection authority) — www.cnpd.pt. We make no automated decisions about you.
